Good value on annual plan

I was looking for an all-in-one solution for popups and email capture for my new site. Found Getsitecontrol and saw they had a 20% off annual billing option, which was a good saving. The 14-day free trial let me test out the exit-intent popups and contact forms before committing. It felt like a smart purchase; I got a lot of features for a reasonable yearly cost compared to paying monthly elsewhere. Definitely felt like good value for money.

Decent for small business needs

I signed up for the email marketing automation and a few popups. The setup for the basic automation workflows was pretty intuitive, and I liked how easy it was to customize the templates. Delivery of broadcast emails was on time, no delays. My one minor complaint is that the analytics dashboard, while functional, could be a bit more robust for deeper insights. It gives you the basics, but I often found myself wishing for more detailed conversion funnels. Still, for the price, it's a solid tool for what it offers.

Reliable for email capture

I've used Getsitecontrol for a few years now, mostly for their email capture forms and popups. This last renewal for my annual plan was as smooth as ever. The service is consistent, never had any major downtime. It integrates well with my Shopify store. It's why I keep coming back.

how easy is it to cancel a subscription if it doesn't work out? any horror stories?

M Marcus 1 month ago
I canceled a while back when I switched platforms and it was super straightforward. No hoops to jump through.

Pretty easy from what I remember. Just log into your account settings and there should be an option to cancel. Didn't have to call anyone or anything.

does this thing charge based on how many emails I collect, or is it just a flat fee for the features?

S Shane V. 2 months ago
It's usually based on features and pageviews, not list size directly. The popups and forms are more about traffic. Email marketing part might have list size limits though, I'd check that.

C Cleo E. 2 months ago
For the forms and popups, it's about your website traffic. But if you're using their email marketing features, then yeah, that might have limits based on subscriber count. They're usually clear about that in the plan details.

does getsitecontrol slow down websites much? I'm always worried about page speed with these kinds of tools.

W Wendy 1 month ago
Nah, I haven't noticed any significant slowdown on my site. They're usually pretty optimized for performance.

My site's pretty lightweight to begin with, but even with a few popups running, I haven't had any issues with page speed scores. They claim it's built to be fast and it seems to hold up.

is there a free version of getsitecontrol or is it just the trial then you pay?

R Rosa A. 2 months ago
They do have a free plan, but it's pretty limited. Good for just getting a feel for it though, or if you only need super basic stuff.

There's a free plan, yeah! It's not super feature-rich but it's enough to get started and see if you like the interface before committing.

can you use getsitecontrol on multiple websites? I have a couple of different stores.

K Kevin 2 months ago
Yep, you totally can. The pricing plans usually outline how many sites you can connect. I'm on a plan that lets me use it on three.
2
D Derek 2 months ago
It depends on your plan. Some tiers allow multiple sites, others are limited to one. Check their pricing page, it'll show you the breakdown.

i'm on the fence between getsitecontrol and optinmonster. anyone used both and can tell me which one felt better for just basic popups and email capture?

J James 1 month ago
I tried OptinMonster years ago and found it a bit clunky. GetSiteControl is much more intuitive, especially for setting up quick campaigns. The drag-and-drop builder is solid.

K Kate 1 month ago
Honestly, for basic stuff, they're both pretty good. GetSiteControl has a cleaner interface though, I think. OptinMonster felt a bit overkill for what I needed.

thinking about getting the annual plan for the 20% off. is that discount applied automatically or do I need a code?

G Greg Romero 1 month ago
It's usually automatic when you choose the annual option. Just select that plan and the price should reflect the discount.
1
O Omar 1 month ago
I'm pretty sure it's automatic. Most SaaS companies do that now to encourage annual commitments. Just double check the total before you hit confirm.

hey, was thinking about trying this out for my shopify store. is the shopify app discount still a thing? or is that just for new users?

A Andre F. 2 months ago
I just signed up a few months ago for my Shopify store and got some kind of discount automatically. Worth checking out the pricing page, it usually tells you right there.

D Dan K. 2 months ago
yeah, usually these things are for new sign-ups. I mean, they want to hook you in right? but if you're switching from something else you might be able to talk to support and see if they can do anything for you.
